Object celebrates it's 6 month birthday this month. 14th November to be exact. To mark the milestone, because the little ones really do matter as a small business, I wanted to draw on Object's biggest influence, Scandinavian style and culture and create a Nordic themed Christmas shoot.
I starting thinking about the direction of the festive season back in July this year, quite a tricky thing to envision in Mediterranean heat! With a season-less, buying approach at the forefront of Object's mission, I decided to also adopt this view when choosing products for our Christmas collection by selecting beautiful objects that can work in your home for the other 10 months of the year. More on this thrifty styling later!
So last Sunday, taking to the camera for the very first time, I worked alongside Manchester based stylist, Saubia Maloney to create 'A Very Nordic Christmas' set in my home.
Working with a contemporary colour palette of cloudy greys, rose pinks and festive flickers of copper set against the imperfect dark wooden floors and charcoal painted walls of my dining room, the aim was to style the shoot in the realest sense so it can be replicated in any home.
Much like Object's online product selection, the shoot combined the use of handmade wares crafted by Object Makers such as Covet Interiors, FOAK and Ink Inc, home accessories by leading Danish homeware brands Bloomingville and Ferm Living as well as twigs, berries and pine cones we foraged from a lovely Autumnal walk in the woods. Some foliage we left in it's natural state, such as our naked Christmas tree, others pieces we made pretty using copper spray paint and white frosting.
All of the products used in the images below are available to buy on our online store or will be in the next few weeks, along with some special surprises! Click on the links below each image to shop.
Finally, do visit our blog again next week where we will be posting a 'A Very Nordic Gift Guide' for all you Scandi-style fans out there!
