This somewhat overlooked Yorkshire town, is home to one  of the country’s, ney the world’s, most highly acclaimed artists: Barbra Hepworth, whose cutting edge gallery is both an architect’s dream and a great day out for people of all ages. 

Free tours are offered to those who feel the cultural urge every Saturday and Sunday from 2-2:30 throughout July. Children can attend art-pod activities from 11:00am -4:00pm every Monday and Friday and enjoy the picnic and outdoor play areas free of charge. Something for them, something for you…

T in the Park, Scotland

For the first time in its history, T in the Park will be held this weekend at Scotland’s stunning Strathallan Castle amidst a landscape of mountainous hills and epic greenery making this festival particularly awe inspiring.  The likes of new, up and coming artists like Ella Eyre and Lucy Rose are joining esteemed and seasoned artists such as Kasabian, Prodigy, Alt-j and Noel Gallagher’s Flying Birds, making this a mixing pot of genres and styles that are sure to persuade anyone who fancies it, popping on a pair of wellies and pitching up a tent in one of Scotland’s most picturesque areas. This relatively recent “Urban festival” offers artisan gifts, a range of street food from all corners of the globe and everything from distinctive and unique cocktails to craft beers accompanied by musical treats from Flyte, Stealing Sheep and The Cuban Brothers. In only its third year, this free to attend London event is gathering popularity; it is certainly worth dropping by and sampling the food and atmosphere this weekend in one of London’s infamous areas.

Rooftop Film Club, Bristol

See Red Women's Workshop

See Red Women's Workshop: 1974-1983, HUDDERSFIELD

ICA presents ground breaking  silkscreen prints, posters and illustrations from the Red Women’s Workshop.  The exhibition celebrates the work of three  women who , in the 1970s, collectively produced provocative and powerful art in response to negative images of women in the media. Their workshop produced feminist art, acknowledged around the world and is exhibited this July at Huddersfield Gallery. This thought provoking glimpse into feminist history is well worth a peek this weekend.
